Not so fast. Wlad had difficulties with southpaws in the past: Chris Byrd (one of the seldom cases Wlad didn't win by KO), Ibragimov (no KO, too), Corrie Sanders (historical loss), Tony Thompson (took Wlad 11 rounds).

Moreover Chagaev is the 2nd opponent who is younger than Klitschko. All of Klitschko's other opponents were older. The last younger one was Sam Peter who KD'ed Klitschko 3 times.

In other words: Now you have a combination of southpaw+younger opponent.

Add to it that Chagaev is/was WBA champ, unbeaten, effective against tall opponents... and you maybe have a combination for an upset.

I think he has a better shot then Haye did actually. But Wlad looks hungry. I think he is going to go in to prove a point.

              Ruslan is in trouble.

Wlad is in this good a shape because he was originally training for Haye.
It only goes to show you how much trouble Haye would have been in. Wlad was taking the haye fight VERY seriously. It's ashame it wont happen now.. i doubt he will be motivated to work that hard again for another haye bout.

Lets hope, there would be more action from both sides, than in the Ibragimov fight...

P.S. i think there should be more... Maybe there was some kind of political issue in the Ibragimov fight, as he is Russian... Ruslan is Uzbek, so there "should" be no problems... It is only my guess, of course...

And now add the fact that Chagaev is ill.

I like the one where Steward is standing behind him in the ring. His expression is priceless. It reminds me of Mickey from Rocky. I could just hear him telling Wlad "You're gonna eat lightnin' and you're gonna crap thunder!"

I think he's a boring fighter, but there's no denying he's a great looking athlete. He could play tight end or defensive end in the NFL if he wanted to.
