Would Mayweather Fans Desert Him If He Lost?

    Bob Arum said

"The fan is not caught up in the mentality of a Floyd Mayweather Jr., who believes in his heart of hearts that to lose is like death and therfore you don't take any chances against anybody who can convincingly beat you."

"This mentality that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has that some of you guys adopt, that really screws up the sport. I mean, as long as he fought his heart out; if he lost the fight, he lost the fight. He didn't lose his popularity. The fans are smarter than the writers and the true fans realize that. The proof is that the fans in New York are just as loyal to Cotto as they've ever been. Maybe more."

Yes. In my time in this forum I have seen Mayweather fans talk about PPV buys, money and the 0 on his record. Is like they are a bunch of little Mayweathers running around eating the **** of Floyd and once he stops shooting crap they will pack their bags, create an alt and nuthug someone else.

If Mayweather lost, I wouldn't desert him, best believe that . I agree with Arum by the way, that 0 does have a negative affect on Floyd.

His True fans wouldn't desert him, but his bandwagon jumpers would. It happens all the time in boxing.

I think so too, another good question would be, if people think the Duran loss had a positive affect on SRL. You think he would be more like Floyd in his selectivity?

if floyd loses, doesnt retire like a *****, and decides to avenge that loss...i would jump back on the bandwagon...

it would mean that, IMO, we see the old floyd again...the one that had something to prove...that 130-135 floyd

                  a heart-check at 30+ years old?
