ppl say that he had lost 25 lbs of pure muscle, which is true, for tarver-jones I. however, he go knocked out in their second fight, a fight in which roy looked like vintage roy in round 1. i dont hold that weight loss bs as a valid excuse because he had already beat tarver prior to the ko loss. had he lost in their first meeting, then the excuse would be more of a reason.

That's his second loss officially. Sometimes your body just doesn't recover from the weight loss, Jones was showing a little slippage a few years prior but nothing major, the weight loss probably accelerated his decline.

I don't care what sport you are in, losing 25lbs of muscle and still being able to compete at a high level is almost impossible.Roy should have taken more time off. That's why he looked so tired and slower in the first fight with Tarver. But the second fight was definitely the prime Roy.He just got caught, no excuse. Now after that....he was a shot fighter. His skills were still intact, but his chin was now exposed, confidence was shot, and heart was completely gone.
