clottey doesn't have to windmill punches to pressure cotto. all he needs to do is let cotto **** away at his arms until cotto gases, then take advantage late. if cotto flurries, clottey can sneak in uppercuts and overhand rights. he should definitely target cotto's nose.

nah, all clottey needs to do is let cotto gas himself out, but clottey needs to be able to let his hands go late to win the fight. he absolutely needs a KO to win, but he lacks a strong punch which is why he will lose.

Clottey cannot wait too long. He's going to have to open up and take more chances also allowing Cotto the chance to get back at him.

Zab was showing good movement before he broke down in the 9th. Cotto can take it past that and then get on the bike if he needs to the way he did with Mosley.

agreed, he's gonna have to start picking it up around the 5th round and end in a crescendo in the 11th and 12th.

Zab was showing good movement before he broke down in the 9th.
meh... zab is a frontrunner. besides, clottey doesn't have zab's speed or power.

I wouldn't use the mosley fight as an analogy. mosley held cotto to take a break himself but cotto got to rest in the clinches too.

but against margo, cotto didn't get any chance to rest. clottey does not clinch and like margo he can't let cotto rest. he has to make cotto fight hard 3 minutes of every round. if he fails to do that, then cotto will not gas and then clottey will have no chance for the tKO win (which is the only way he can win).

you forgot there ".. but against margo.." Cotto was bleeding. then "meh... zab is a frontrunner. besides, clottey doesn't have zab's speed or power." how he's going to make Cotto bleed if he doesn't have the power..

I did some research on Clottey and I came up with this

1 ko (Jose Luis Cruz) in 5 years

15 of his 20 ko came over opponents that had a combine record of 3-23

I mean this guy is not a power puncher.

true, that didn't help. but I didn't want to talk about cotto's spotty defense, but I just wanted to focus on his stamina.

then "meh... zab is a frontrunner.
                what? he is isn't he?

besides, clottey doesn't have zab's speed or power." how he's going to make Cotto bleed if he doesn't have the power..
he don't need to have power to make cotto bleed, he just needs to be accurate and throw the punches that cotto is vulnerable to: the uppercut and the overhand right.
