They also hate him because he beat two atg's at the end of their careers. The biggest problem is people don't want to admit that BHOP was still a great fighter when Zaghs beat him. Last and certainly not least, they hate his hideous style of punching.

There are only a small number of ignorant people who hate him for his skin color, although they do exist on this forum.

Please. Didn't Calzaghe defend a vacant belt for 10 years before he really stepped up? I think The Blow is a level above Cotto because he's never lost, and really only had one close fight in his best division, but he is not without faults or criticism.

Bernard Hopkins is perceived as some kind of throwback fighter, that fought everyone and anyone in the US (media included), whereas Joe Calzaghe is that guy that "fort bums in briten".
