I feel very similiar to that article.. Although I still believe Cotto may edge it out.

THe problem still lies, a lot of Cottos punches will land on Clotteys guard.

And they are all noticeably blocked shots, so you tend to never give credit even for work rate, if they don't land against Clottey.

This is a very even fight, either would do well to get a decisive win...

1) same opposition: all this tells us is that cotto is a better puncher but clottey is the better defender.

2) counterpunching: the thing is if cotto goes into potshot mode, he will give clottey less countering opportunities and then cotto wins a decision based on activity because clottey will be waiting all night to counter.

3) defense: definitley, clottey has a better defense

4) chin: clottey has never been rocked as far as I know, this goes to clottey.

5) stamina: both guys fade, but cotto's fade is pretty drastic and noticable. I gotta give clottey the edge on this too, because his style is very relaxed.

although i gave clottey 3 of 5, I also believe cotto has the "it" factor that the judges and crowd will favor.

close fight but cotto wins a close decision victory.
