    Underrated Punches/Arsenals

Sugar Ray Leonard's Left Hook: I thought Leonard had a monster left hook. His power has often been underrated. He turned the course of the first Thomas Hearns fight with one left hook, knocked Davey Boy Green cold with a left hook, was the end for Danny Lalonde

Thomas Hearns's Left Hook to the Body: For good reason, everyone remembers his right cross, and his jab. But his left hook to the body was no joke. He set up the right hand against James Shuler with brutal left hooks to the body. He was raking Iran Barkley with left hooks to the body before Barkley pulled one from the fire. He had some early KOs with left hooks to the body too.

Floyd Mayweather's Body Attack: His body attack is an often overlooked weapon of Mayweather's. He often sets up punches to the head with that pestering jab to the stomach. He followed it up with jabs to the head against Diego Corrales, and with straight right hands to the head against Oscar De La Hoya. His body attack (along with timing on the straight right hand) turned the fight around against Zab Judah. He hurt Arturo Gatti and Ricky Hatton downstairs, dropped Goyo Vargas, stopped Shambra Mitchell. He can mix it in well along with the head punches, throwing that double left hook, downstairs than upstairs.

Antonio Tarver's left cross. Well it's accknowledged as his best punch, but that thing is lethal.

edit: And the way Ricardo Mayorga fights in general.

It's funny how when someone tries to enlighten around here the thread gets 1 post.

JMM's pinpoint body shots are very underrated, that's the biggest reason why he got the knockout vs. Diaz, not the cut or head shots.

I agree, some of the best and most informative threads go largely untouched, explains alot about the posters and their agendas on this board.

I think that Jose Luis Castillo was a very under rated offensive fighter of this era. His inside fight game to me is the best of recent memory.

Whitaker's body punches in general, he really knew how to dig in his punches to the body.

JMM is real precise in there, knows when and where to place shots.

I liked how he went to the body right before he finished Diaz to the head.

Mike Tyson's jab got less attention than most of his other punches. Probably because they were more eye catching.. But his jab was so well timed, and hard, too.

Wlad's left hook, he doesn't unleash it much but he has a sneaky left hook and sets up the right hand behind it well.

Roy Jones' right hook to the body, he used it well in his prime, especially against southpaws but the most graphic display of that right hook was against Virgil Hill.
