      I think so as well, the real reason, he's not showing up is because he saw some of the Cotto's outdoor video workout and said to himself, I want no part of that.
      No need to scout a fighter, I won't be fighting and besides Arum wants that fight not me. Poor Arum, if and when Cotto wins, he has no leverage in re-signing Cotto. GBP, here comes COTTO!

          [QUOTE=PRPOWERPUNCHES;5451121]By Nick Giongco

          Manny Pacquiao has decided to stay in the Philippines instead of attending Friday night’s Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) banquet at the Capitale in New York. Pacquiao was interviewed by a TV network and his handlers confirmed that the pound-for-pound king has opted to remain in the country and go on a vacation instead in Bohol or Dakak, two well-known local destinations. The BWAA named Pacquiao as Fighter of the Year for 2008, the second time Pacquiao will get the award after being voted in 2006. Pacquiao was on hand when he got the 2006 award at the Copacabana, also in New York. Pacquiao will also miss Saturday night’s big fights featuring prospective foe Miguel Cotto at the Madison Square Garden. Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser Mike Koncz said in a text message Tuesday night that he will instead fly to New York to accept the BWAA award “on Pacquiao’s behalf.” Koncz said he hasn’t talked with Top Rank head Bob Arum about Pacquiao’s decision “but I left message on his phone.” Koncz said Pacquiao cited family commitments as reason for his decision not to go. In the event Pacquiao makes a last-minute decision to go, he can still make it to the Big Apple if he leaves Manila on Friday morning via Northwest Airlines. Owing to the time difference, Pacquiao will arrive there on the same day.

          Is he Qscared???[/UOTE]

          Scared of what? Or should I say, scared of who???

            Good!

            Now we can get Cotto/PW or Cotto/Stalking Shane Mosley!

            Plz fight PW! U already beat the Stalker.

            Assuming he wins like most think except me!

            If he does lose we will get Clottey vs PW for sure! Thats too much money for Clottey to turn down.

                I mean it's pretty obvious for Pacquiao, you either drain the crap out of Cotto and Mosley to 142 and add tarnished wins to your resume or you fight them at 147 and get knocked out early.

                Fight Mayweather, who can get down to 142 with ease, and it would not only add the best name to your resume if you won (which he won't), but it's also the most even fight, physically, for him.

                    lolz, you mean that light work out?

                    cotto wasn't even working hard. why would pac fear that?

                    the cotto/pac fight was always an Arum plan to keep cotto in his stable. saying pac is scare of cotto is ignorant.

                      yep, mosley and cotto are just too big for pac. mosley can cotto are basically MWs on fightnight and pac is a WW on fight night.

                      its a mismatch with the catchweight.

                      yep, floyd atleast is a small WW.
