Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I started taking boxing classes 2 months ago and tried sparring for the first time last week. I really liked it and decided to buy my own sparring gloves.
After reading a lot i understand that 50$ is not enough to invest in great quality gear but nonetheless this is my budget... once you add up taxes, shipping and conversion to Canadian Dollar this 50$ will cost a lot more... And I am also looking for some HeadGear so in total this is going to be pricey... I already have hand wraps, mouth guard and bag gloves.
So after spending some time reading, these are the choices i came up with, let me know which one you think is best ( and why ) and also if you have an alternative recommendation feel free to share !
First I decided to go with 16oz instead of 14oz... because it seems 16oz is the most standard sparring weight, it builds more endurance and is safer... im not looking to go into real fights and competitions stuff, boxing for me is just for fun.
Glove Selection :
#1 Everlast protex2 vinyl gloves 40$:
URL ( i cant post links yet ) : store.titleboxing.com/everlast-protex2-vinyl-gloves.html
I think i like these gloves because of all the "features" it packs, for example I like the fact it has "enhanced" wrist support because i have really small wrists and think i could use that support. The only down side I think is that it is not real leather, the leather version is 99$. Correct me if im wrong but the whole point of having leather is to make the glove more durable ? in which case i think for my purposes its not a big issue, if I will be sparring maybe once per week max on average ? I figure that instead of spending for the "durability" id spend for the features/design of the glove ?
#2 TITLE Classic Hook-and-Loop Leather Training Gloves 40$ :
URL : store.titleboxing.com/hookclastrai.html
These gloves were recommended by an advanced member in another forum they are in leather so thats good i guess. I prefer these over #3 as it looks like they have more "features" and also because they are cheaper.
#3 TITLE Hook-and-Loop Training Gloves 50$ :
URL : store.titleboxing.com/tsgv.html
These are more expensive but they fit my budget and were also recommended by the same forum guy above. Also made of leather.
Alternatively, there is a fourth option Zeepk Boxing gloves / Headguard , which is a boxing glove headgear combo for 35$... although im not sure about the quality of this brand... i think id rather buy things separately... URL : zeepksports.com/zeboglhe.html
Let me know what you think, Any input would be much appreciated, thanks !
