Floyd Sr: "Mayweather Batters Marquez Like Gatti"

I'm no fan of Mayweather at all, but to me it gets annoying when a story about this fight between Marquez and Mayweather gets hijacked by Cotto nuthuggers cryin about how their boy didn't get their shot at Floyd. It may be because JMM has more balls than Cotto. He is also a better and more skilled fighter that would even beat Cotto in a head-to-head match up. Yeah, I said it. What is it special that Cotto has done besides have Benji Estevez save him from getting knocked out by Shane Mosley in the 10th round by wiping up that canvass wet spot? You Puerto Ricans think that Marquez isn't gonna beat Mayweather before Cotto gets to him and you are mistaken. And even if Mayweather does win, will Cotto express any interest in fighting him?

LOL at anybody comparing Gatti to Marquez. Who cares if Gatti is stronger. He swings too slow and wide for a guy like Mayweather. He was never a threat. Marquez is so much more skilled than Arturro Gatti.

Totally true about Gatti-Marguez however i still beleive that Marquez will not be strong enough at this weight in order to do an damage to Mayweather therefore PBF will be taking advantage of his speed and power to dominate Marquez but not as bad as he dominated Gatti. Keep im mind that at 135 Marguez didn't have an above level hand speed, it was his constant counter punch and hig punch activity that made him a star. He just fought a guy at 135 Juan Diaz who is not known for his speed either. So when he faces Mayweather he will be facing a guy stronger than the one who knocked him down 4 time and that at the same time is quicker than him and have better boxing and defensive skills.

The only way that i see Marguez winning is if PBF is not in shape and the rust of 1-1/2 years of shows up. I doubt that this will happen.

You never have an advantage when you go dehydrated into a fight like Cotto was doing at 140. You would be weaker and and that's why Cotto was getting hurt. He has received harder punches by stronger guys at 147 and has not shown the effect he was getting at 140. So there was no advavntage.

And sure he can beat a 154 lbs like Floyd did or do you think that the only person that Floyd beat at 154 (De la Hoya) could beat Cotto. Hell even Cintron is a champ in 154 you don't think he can beat Cintron either.

Buy the way the Mosley (who beat the guy that Floyd fought at 154 twice) has 8 fight at 154 and Cotto beat him also.

Cotto has fought a more dangerous opposition than PBF in his career altough the borricua started in the game way after PBF...It's obvious,PBF is just overhyped but never fought a great fighter in his prime(and some people think Oscar isn't a great)

Margo loaded,Mosley,Quintana,Judah,Clottey, is clearly above Judah,a Washed up Oscar,Hatton,Castillo(and he lost once)and an outweighed JMM.It's joke.

that is not cherry picking since oscar is the one who cherry picked pacquaio. **** no one predicted pacquaio to even win the fight and thought Pacquaio was too small.

David diaz was already a tune up fight and pacquaio was supposed to stay at light weight but Oscar messed up that plan because he thought ducking margarito to fight the much smaller and easier Pacman will help him get a ricky hatton fight. Dec 6 happen and Oscar quit boxing. And no boxer would pass up a fight with ricky hatton since at the time he was the biggest draw. Even i didnt call floyd out for fighting oscar and hatton because they are the two biggest money maker. **** if you pass them up you end up being what shane is now. Look what happen when you pass up a 3rd fight with oscar.

Floyd straight out cherry picked Marquez just like how every1 hated on Oscar for pushing a pacquaio fight and made him move up 2 weight class. Marquez already proved he cant handle moving up in weight by showing he can get hit non stop and be pressured. He was losing to casamayor and Juan diaz before he knocked they ass out.

I was feeling everything you said up until here. Its doesnt make sense how you can let Pac off by saying Oscar picked him, but then go in on Floyd and say he cherry picked Marquez, when marquez is the one who called out Floyd.

This fight is gonna be far from that farce of where Mayweather used Gatti as a punching bag. JMM is coming for Floyd's ass. When I hear things like, "My body is breakin down" and "I've gotten bored with the sport" doesn't make me optimistic about Floyd's confidence to beat a top fighter. That's Jermaine Taylor-like talk. Floyd has showed that he can deal with some adversitity during the pre-retirement phase of his career, but I really think he's lost his hunger. He wanted another easy fight but HBO didn't have the money to pay him to beat up Sharmba Mitchell again.
