I disagree with that article. I think the fact that people are still talking about Pacquiao Hatton shows how healthy the sport is currently. Boxing never has a constant buzz due to the lack of constant fights, so when you do have non die-hard fans discussing boxing a month or two after a fight, it is a good thing.

The only fight left is Khan, yep British boxing is going down the ****ter, and fast.
We still have a lot of prospects still to prove themselves.

Indeed, British boxing is in a sorry state at the moment.

You know, once upon a time it was MMA junkies who ran wild in comparing the two sports. But these days, every time boxing gains even a little bit of momentum, someone feels the need to take a dump on MMA.

I guess I'm wondering how an article regarding the lack of boxing coverage as of late suddenly became a boxing-vs-MMA debate, especially when the acronym is never once mentioned in the article?

I meant boxing fans are still discussing it, and meant it as a half-hearted joke, to underline the lack of notable action in the sport since then. I tried to illustrate that with the examples provided in the 'graphs that followed it, but guess I wasn't emphatic enough in making my point

I dunno, boxing has always been like that as far as I've seen. Can't have a super fight with a devastating knockout every week.

It hasn't always been like that, just in the past few years. Some use five years ago to compare to today; others who actually recall when boxing was still regarded as a major sport tend to get depressed when forced to settle for what passes as "active."

I tend to worry when a network like HBO stresses over their boxing budget drying up when they still have another four months worth of programming to fill up. Or when Showtime - the #2 game in town - elects to go black for what will be two months by the time Agbeko-Darchinyan airs.

Every BIG Fight should be scheduled like this. that way you dont have to be so anxious for the big one because you are being entertained big time in the mean time, i like this setup, they should use it often!!! Boxing should be good with this.
