Clottey kind of slaps with his punches. He's not a big puncher, but I wouln't call him feather fisted by any means. He is definitely capable of hurting his opponent. His low KO ratio has to come from his inactivity. He was busting Judah up pretty good, and he did stagger Margarito with a counter uppercut.

Co-Sign, I believe Clottey is too big and too durable for Cotto.

If you believe Clottey when he says that Cotto can't take his punches, then you my friend have not watched many if at all any of his fights. Clottey is not this big puncher as he relies heavily on countering and waiting for his opponent to make a move. But the reality is that he hasn't KO'd anyone in years. Now he's going to face a fighter who's very well rounded, can take a shot, throws an array of punches and can adjust in a fight (things Clottey doesn't overall posses) and we're supposed to believe his power and volume of punches (which he doesn't have) is going to be the deciding factor on beating a guy like Cotto?

        I'm sorry, I don't see it.

Cotto will be able to take them, Clottey will have to slowly break him down and keep a suffocating-type pressure on him to get the ko. No lapses either.

To be fair, Clottey spent a lot of those 10 rounds doing very little. When he did let his hands go, he had Corrales staggering all over the place. In fact, it could have just as easily been an early round KO if Clottey threw more punches. But big deal, Corrales wasn't Corrales at that weight.

I think Cotto is being a tad underestimated by some and I don't blame them. He really took a bad beating against Margarito and his fight against Jennings reminded me of when Trinidad fought Cherifi. Tito dispatched the former champ in four but Roberto Duran noted something was amiss. You couldn't really see it but you sensed it.

I wonder what Cotto thinks when he sees himself in the mirror. Is he over that loss to Margarito? And why the hell is he taking this fight anyway, did Arum put him up to this? I can't question the man's heart, which is why I'm leaning towards him. Clottey hasn't passed that cojones test yet. It could be that he's finally gained confidence in himself--in which case I'd pick him over a lot of guys. And Miguel Cotto would then be in serious trouble on Saturday night. Say what you want but Cotto always makes the fights you want to see. I am absolutely stoked about this fight.
