This week, “On The Ropes” Radio returns with host Jenna J aka Boxing Girl, and co-hosts Mighty Mark Messer and Nick “NeXt In Line” Powers, alongside weekly guest Rumsfield. We will review the past week in Boxing news, starting with the huge news of the Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye fight being called off due to an injury Haye suffered to his back while in training, and the news of Klitschko maintaining his June 20th date to take on Ruslan Chagaev. Though Chagaev is only a “partial” champion in the terms of the WBA, his fight with Klitschko will be for the vacant Ring Magazine Heavyweight Title, a move that has upset certain boxing fans who believe that such a fight as Klitschko vs. Chagaev will not crown a legitimate Heavyweight champion, including our weekly guest Rumsfield.
In addition, we will explore the recent news in the Boxing world that Wladimir Klitschko will openly explore an opportunity to fight his older brother and current WBC Heavyweight Champion, Vitali, should their mother give them the OK. Should such an event happen, it could potentially be one of, if not THE biggest Heavyweight fight in history.
Also, we will talk about the professional debut of George Foreman III, how he looked in the ring and what fans could potentially expect from him in the future. Plus, there will be a preview of the big Welterweight title fight this weekend between Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey, airing June 13th on HBO Championship Boxing.
