I agree we have seen alot of great fights and accomplishments made bc of moveing up in weight. My thing is you should know your limit. Like someone said floyd prolly cant really hang at 154 pounds but he hasnt really fought the best in the weight div he has been in. Roy moved up to HW bc that was his goal was to one day to be a HW champ. Floyd did see money signs in his eyes when DLH wanted him. Pac see's money signs and greatness by moveing up. But yea you cant dig a fighter bc he wont move to 160 or HW. Fighters should know their limits and us as fans should really know the limit and not call for fighters to move up and beyond a weight they can handle.

cosign. back then the best fighters moved up and down weight classes in order to fight the best fighters available and to make great fights. not to cherry pick average bums and smaller fighters so they can haue advantages.

I cosign your cosign. If you go up in weight, you should be fighting guys at that weight.

He could fight Cotto, Mosley, Paul Williams, Clottey, Berto, etc. I'd pay to see those fights.

Yeah because David Diaz is the best at Lightweight, and Oscar is the best WW.

Good thread Kev, but there are obvious limits. You can't apply the same standard to every fighter in regards to moving up in weight. Someone like Roy Jones for example is special.
