Monk has no Amature (sp?) background. Monk fought a guy that looks like he rents shoes at the local bowling alley, but seriously this is his first fight of any nature really. So of course he's not that great right now, I don't know/think he'll go too far in the pros unless he's handled very well (Chavez JR) I think if he's starting this late in his career he's going to need a better training staff, Don't get me wrong, I love big george, but he never appear a super technical boxer to me, he always seemed like he could just eat shots like crazy and knock you out with any punch, and i wouldn't train a guy to do the same... perhaps anne wolfe? she needs a new star, and he's got the name.

I've seen videos of him sparring at Gladiators gym with Faruq Saleem, Joe Hanks, Al Cole, and Chazz Witherspoon he looked good against those dudes. Fights a lot and I mean a lot like throw back Foreman. He keeps his hands out far, real awkward style ya kno? He pushes guys to keep em on the outside, then on the inside he's throwin wild hooks not too much power. Damn Joe Hanks and him went at it! He put old Al Cole down and the rest it was typical sparring session.
