Boxers who "run out of gass"

do we give them too much credit? I heard people say if judah trained more he could beat mayweather, same with taylor and pavlik.

is it just because they go all out early (making themselves look good in process) and fail to control their pace like their opponent?

do we give them too much credit?

probably, pacing a contest well is a sign of a world-class fighter.

That said, Taylor did a decent job against Froch he wasn't exactly treading water, Froch just started getting through.

There are lots of things that make a fighter gas , its as much emotional as it is physical , a guy thats getting beat and becoming nervous will gas while a guy thats at ease and fighting within himself can fight 20 rounds , the point Im making is its not just physical work but much more than that .

Taylor running out og gas against Froch was unbeleivable after dominating the fight as well.

          Good point I guess.

Judah's heart probably races about 10 a-dozen when he's fighting, someone like Hopkins heart probably beats about as fast as if he were going for a brisk walk on the beach.

Yep nervous energy is hard to control as is fear when your losing and you know your losing especially guys that have been koed before , that goes the other way as well when a fighter is unbeaten , his mental state is a lot tougher to crack the first time .

yea thats true. once u been stabbed twice, in over 50 pro fights, several amatuer fights, and even more streetfights u dont react to strong. getting punched in the face is like a everyday thang.

btw why is pavlik included? he has great stamina, said he never got tired in the hopkins fight, and i never seen him get tired eighter.

Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya are 2 big names that are notorious for running out of gas.

yeah very true , Tyson had a bit of fear in him that surfaced when he started to get hit clean with Oscar I think he system just lacked endurance .

Hardly 'unbelievable'; it's not as if we haven't seen it from him before. I don't think Taylor really 'gassed' anyway, he slowed down and that allowed Froch to take over, but that's all. It's OK talking about managing effort across 12 rounds, but if he had done that who is to say Froch wouldn't have taken more of the early ones?

We've just found out Tyson had breathing problems that were probably undiagnosed asthma. He had to go for early KO's.
