Its easy to sit and criticize someone, but put yourself in his shoes. A first ballot hall of famer wants a big money fight and he gets bashed. But when lesser fighter call out fighters they don't. Mosley and floyd gets bashed for picking on so called little men but when paul williams (who last fought at mw) calls out a ww its cool. People need to stop it.
    ------------------------

dude pwill jumped on the scene as a ww, only moved up cuz no one at welter had the balls to do so, therefore the man is giving himself options......same way shane started out as a lightweight, and moved up to junior middle, for the sake of seeking big money fights and championship belts....if pwill is able to get down to welter then he's eligible to fight and call out whoever is there at welter.....lucky for berto no one seems interested in picking on him for whatever reason......

Bottom line is shane keeps crying and begging for pac-man, and it aint gonna happen
so he needs to stfu and move on or just retire!!!

When Hatton went up for Collazo, he went all the way up to 147, and he won btw. When Bhop went up for Tarver he went all the way up to 175. Notice the pattern here? No catchweights, no 'in between' bull****. Go all the way up or stay in your own ****in division.

Hahahahahaha! Do you really believe Hatton beat Collazo??? That guy was getting eaten alive throughout that fight. DLH cherrypicked?? Sure, he underestimated Pac, by far... but still, he should've known not to come down to '47 after not fighting there for 6 years, especially at the age he's at. Exactly, they all went UP to the weight limit. Nobody tried to squeeze anybody and kill them during training camp. Tell Roach to stop mentioning names and coming up with terrible stipulations. We understand how he works, you should too.

Also, at '44 I believe Mosley would devour Pac, but guess what, recent articles say they want him at '43 or '42 now.... honestly, team Pac looks bad retracting. They know they can't beat Mosley at '47 so they said '44. Now SSM has called their bluff, given them the 60/40 lions share, and a rematch clause..... what's the excuse now? Pretty Mayweatheresque eh?

Hahaaaaa. Read the post-fight articles from January 25th on. Mosley called out Cotto repeatedly but Arum knew better. Berto will get eaten by any of the top fighters at '47 (Williams, Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather).

Can't argue with you on Paul Williams though, don't think anyone can beat him from '47-'60

        • There's a ton of SSM hating going on here ha! I mean, you have to put yourself in Mosley's shoes for a minute. You had a spectacular performance against Margarito. The guy had an iron chin. Nobody had ever beat the brakes off that guy... ever. So he called out Cotto and they said they "already beat Mosley" and just shrugged him off because there's no way after that performance they would throw Cotto in there with him. That's the first point of frustration.

He hears Mayweather is coming back, boxing fans would want that fight to happen, it definitely would never do Pac-Mayweather numbers, but it would still rake in some financial. Mayweather knew not to make that a comeback fight.

Then Roach gets his hopes up by stating that they don't care about Floyd and they're pursuing Cotto at '43 (terrible pitch) and Mosley at a catchweight.

Mosley has made this deal pro pro pro-Pac. Everything is there on a silver platter after his name was mentioned by Roach and yet nothing has come to fruition. I don't blame the guy for being frustrated and trying to find any outlet to vent on pushing the fight to happen.

Not to mention, Jin probably took a chunk of change from SSM hahahaha. Mosley is a risk for everyone at this point (except Paul Williams hahaha).

Unfortunately, Mosley's not a household name in sports and it sucks because the guy still has talent going on 38. If anything, his win against Maragarito ended up hurting him. It's the price of success.

          • I swear this guy is such a coward. Paul Williams is right there for the taking. If you are the man in the division, then you take everyone out in the division.

Matter of fact, I'm not sure if the video is still up on youtube (I'll try finding it).... but Margarito actually confronted Mayweather about fighting him back when he was the "most feared WW." I'm pretty sure no-one gave the bigger Margarito slack for picking on the then 140 pound Mayweather.

At 2:27 specifically, Tony walks up to him and asks PBF for the opportunity.....

Since it's Manny Pacquiao though, he's small, so nobody can pick on him even when he said he'll fight Mosley, Cotto, and Mayweather. Oh well.

Paul Williams brings in no ppv revenue. If you're not a die-hard boxing fan, you have no idea who Paul Williams is. If there's a Paul Williams in the MLB or NFL, you know that guy before the '47-'60 nightmare.

Whereas Pac is #1 on almost everybody's list. He went up to '47 to beat up DLH successfully. Now Cotto and Mosley don't understand why they can't get the same opportunity the "greatest" fighter right now had at '47.

Yes, Paul Williams is nasty! But the gift he has is a curse. His freakish height mixed with the incredible talent he has is only going to get him major fights at '60 and Peterson knows this. It's unfortunate but true.

                • Some posts on here unfairly and falsely characterize Shane Mosley and there are others that defend his position too much. But if you think this is a fight that Shane wouldn't have taken in his prime then you are nieve when it comes to the type of courage this guy has. He realizes that if he looses another fight at this stage his career is done on the big stage. That said, it looks like he is backed into a corner here. I'm even pessimistic about Arum's intentions with what to do with Cotto. He knows he beat Mosley by the skin of his teeth. On the other hand I think Goosen is totally confident in Paul's ability to hang with Shane. He seems to be the only one willing to fight Mosley and pretty much, it's either Mosley takes this fight or retire and don't waste people's time. Hopkins also needs to let people know what his next move is as well even though if he decided to fight Dawson he would win that fight handily in my view. The thing that makes Golden Boy Promotions looks like total hypocrites is the fact that the same time they buy the Ring, they make their two superstar fighters hold their respective divisions hostage and that's not right.

                    Very true Iceta, well put.

I've never read an article or watched an interview where Mosley has stated that he specifically wanted to fight Paul Williams... but Roach and Pac both have stated that they wanted a Mosley fight; that's the only uneasy part about this issue.

I couldn't agree more about Mosley fighting Williams or having to retire as his options (and Bernard handling Dawson haha).
