    Did Calzaghe retire in his prime?

    I know he wasn't too young, but he seemed to be at the top of his game.

    Nah i think he was past it, but i know what you mean, cos he was still so good and didnt really start showing signs of getting old and stuff....

      He was close enough, hard to say though. When you take the various hand injuries that set him back, considering that he was probably at the best he could be when he retired.

      I would go with old Joe but tough to say.

        He was still good enough to beat many other fighters but why stick around longer? Better to retire on top and healthy than go out like Roy Jones Jr. and never no when to quit. No offense to Roy Jones Jr it just saddens me watching him try and fight in the condition he is in.
