Why would he fight in Vegas when both of the fighters have the biggest fan group in NY? You forget MSG is the Mecca of Boxing and fighter dream of fighting there. Clottey is living in the Bronx where many people of Ghana make there home and NYC has the largest Population of Puerto Rican outside the Island. As for money dumbass ...the way you get the biggest paydays is by fighting the best guys in the division. You earn respect from the hard core fans and earn those paydays.....something Margacheato is trying to surpass by thinking he can jump right in and fight the best....he needs to beat the lower level with no plaster.

I agree too. The best fighting the best is what real fans love and if they get the big payday in the process then its a great for them. Thats why Margarito needs to prove he can work his way from the bottom up too. The only fight we are sure he didnt have plaster was Shanes...and Shane destroyed this man without plaster.

MSG may be the Mecca.........but please tell me where MOST of the Mega Fights take place??? Please enlighten me. A superstar is one who can go to OTHER PLACES and pack the house. Oscar used to do that when he did.
Margarito fought the best. He fought Paul Williams........did Cotto ever fight him?? Yet he never got the props because some didn't like him, his nationality, etc.
Why would he need to fight lower level comp when he lost to one of the Top Welterweights in the World??? At least he isn't coming back to fight a tomato can for a Vacant Belt.
