he easily outpointed a much more game version of DLH. and he beat hatton just as impressively as pacquiao. i mean he has a diffrent style from pac. pac did it his way (blasting him out) and floyd did it his way (carefully figuring him out then breaking him down). but both got the job done in impressive fashion so to me its even.

I give credit to Pacquiao for pickin apart ODH and knocking out Hatton in Round 2 but you have to take into consideration some facts, even if you're a Floyd hater:

1) Floyd fought Oscar De La Hoya at 154, a weight he never made before and where Oscar walks around, with 10 ounces gloves.

2) Pacquiao fought ODH at a weight where he didn't fight since 9 years and looked dehydrated. Plus he fought with 8 ounce gloves.

3) Style makes fights: Floyd is a defensive fighter who fight backwards most of the time and who will only attack if he's sure to land. Pacquiao is a boxer puncher with a brawler's instinct who will attack whatever the situation is.

4) Hatton who fought against Mayweather was undefeated, at home and got knocked out by a check hook from Mayweather going backwards. Hatton who fought Pacquiao was as good as the one who fought Mayweather, Pacquiao knocked him out cause his speed and power allowed him to win a "Bletzkrieg" over a bigger, slower, stronger Hatton who didn't fight smart like he did against Tszyu or Paulie.


I'm a lil bit more impressed with Mayweather's performance against a still good DLH whereas i'm more impressed by Pacquiao KOing Hatton. The reason why i pick Mayweather is because he had all the conditions against him, in both cases.
My conclusion is that they both looked great in those fights, and people shouldn't compare them based on those fights, cause that would turn in a false statement, either way.

Who can really prove the reason De La Hoya looked like **** that night against Pacquiao was because of weight? I mean, I believe that's what it was, but none of us can prove that. However, it's not Pacquiao's fault De La Hoya looked like **** and Ricky Hatton is very much in his prime. Just cuz you've been knocked out before don't mean your career is done. That said, I don't count the De La Hoya fight, but Pacquiao Vs. Hatton was alot more impressive and at the same time, it doesn't mean a great deal if you wanna put Pac and Mayweather in the ring together.

Oscar was 34 when Floyd beat him, not 35. An yes 1 year in boxing is a lot in boxing. Pacquiao beat a 36 year old Oscar who's face came off looking like he got attacked by bees against a blown up Forbes in his "tune-up". Forbes is a 140 pounder and fought Oscar at 150, that's what made Roach call out for that fight so bad. Floyd got the last bit that Oscar had to give, and he won a tough Split Decision.

Ricky Hatton, Floyd beat him first, by TKO, both undefeated. I have to stick to my word and give Pacquiao full credit for beating Hatton, especially in 2 rounds at a weight where he was undefeated. Nothing bad to say about that win, whoever hates on Pacquiao for his win over Hatton is not a boxing fan and won't ever admit any win for any fighter other than their favorite.

Again, roach noticed that in sparring sessions when he was training ODLH for mayweather. So Mayweather fought a triggerless oscar. Mayweather didnt even put a cut on ODLH, i bet it was becuase his gloves were a whole 2 oz heavier..haha
