People say Marquez's chin is bad?

Why... because Pacquiao put him down a lot?

After round 1, he was still taking bombs in the first fight.

Other than round 3, he took bombs the entire fight and didn't go down in the rematch.

Really, other than the guys on the top tier of the sport for chin (Andrade, Baldomir, Johnson, Margarito, Williams, etc.), Marquez has a pretty top notch chin.

    2nd tier for sure.

Not bad but he gets stunned a lot.

Marquez has shown tremendous recovery and heart after being rocked.

Naw, Marquez's chin is fine. His balance may not be what it could be. You don't take those bombs and get back up if your chin is in question.

I dont think his chin is bad at all but his D is very questionable. Pac didnt drop him because of power. He dropped him because the Southpaw style threw him off early until he adjusted better. I dont think Pac wouldve dropped him at all if Pac was a righty but it is what it is. The problem is just like you said, he took a million clean shots. Its not only against Pac but he even gets hit a ton when he fights average guys. Every fight he is totally bruised up. Thats his problem and it will show up big time against an accurate guy like Floyd who also has a good D

He doesnt have a great chin, but it holds up well enough. He sees most of the punches coming but whenever he gets hit with something he doesnt see he usually gets at least wobbled

I would compare to those guys but his chin is above average.

The reason he got knocked down is because he way overcommitted with his right hand, and was off balance PLUS his chin was wide open for a Pacquiao left.

That would have knocked a lot of fighters out, because that chin had no protection when that punch landed.
