mosley using steroids is irrelevant, it was only for one fight...

im tired of you tools that keep bringing this **** up....

1 - it was only for the delahoya rematch, which wasnt a convincing win by any means

2 - lets say he used it before the delahoya rematch, well vernon forrest waxed his ass before that and wanky wright whipped him after, so steroids couldnt have made him a beast

3 - it was an endurance steroid not a bulking steroid

4 - de la hoya was known for losing the late rounds so who knows if the steroids actually did anything beneficial mosley was sluggish that fight

5 - mosley is the only athlete out of the whole BALCO who is still good, steroids prolonged the careers of barry bonds, marion jones, jason giambi etc but their performances all severely declined after BALCO went down

yeah it was wrong and mosley should have been fined but other than that its completely irrelevant to his current career....

There's not enough proof that he took steroids. All there is, is the BALCO guy claiming Sugar purchased steroids from him, while you have Sugar passing a lie detector test. Shane Mosley will win this case, if he did use steroids, the court does not have enough proof about this to give Mosley serious troubles.

Btw, one fight for a boxer like Mosley, is like a whole baseball season for a baseball player.

So was sprinkling a little Paris by master artisan Capetillo on Dr. Doom's wraps, and he didn't even get to use those masterpieces.

EPO is not a steroid though. It's indeed illegal, but only because it's considered a performance enhancement drug. It's for stamina only(I think). If that is what he used, then it shouldn't be a big deal.

            I like Shane Mosley but:

Shane Mosley was first publicly linked to steroid use on September 28, 2007 in a Sports Illustrated story by A.J. Perez that outlined three illegal performance-enhancing drugs used by Shane Mosley. They were the “Clear” (tetrahydrogestrinone or THG), “the Cream” (a topical testosterone and epitesterone blend), and Epogen (erythropoietin or EPO). The source for the story has not been identified. After the story appeared, Mosely admitted using performance enhancing drugs “unknowingly.”

The clear, or Tetrahydrogestrinone, is an anabolic steroid that has been found to bind to the androgen receptor with similar affinity to dihydrotestosterone and produces growth of muscle tissue.[5] According to Patrick Arnold, due the drug's potency, he never had to supply significant quan****** to BALCO, because "just a couple of drops under the tongue" were a sufficient dose.[1]

Further, in May 2008, Mosley’s former trainer and conditioning coach, Darryl Hudson, supported Victor Conte’s allegations against Mosley. Darryl Hudson was one of the four people in the room, along with Conte, Mosley and BALCO vice president James Valente, during the initial July 2003 visit to BALCO labs. Hudson corroborated Conte’s account a meeting on July 26, 2003 where the benefits of three illegal were outlined for Shane Mosley. "I know that Mr. Mosley was aware that the performance-enhancing drugs provided to him by Mr. Conte were banned drugs because I discussed that fact with Mr. Mosley both during and after our visit to BALCO," according to Hudson. Mosley’s defamation suit identified Hudson as being present during this meeting. Both Conte and Hudson have stated that Mosley was fully aware of the illegal and banned nature of the BALCO products.

            And:

In December 2008, U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston unsealed the grand jury testimony from the BALCO investigation. Transcripts of Shane Mosley testimony were publicly released. Shane Mosley admitted to using BALCO products under oath and never attempted to characterize the drugs as legal substances. In most circumstances, grand jury testimony remains secret forever guaranteeing that witness testimony would never be made public. Shane Mosley’s defamation lawsuit was most likely filed with the expectation that his testimony would never be made public.

Basically, like Mosley or not, the evidence exists since the Balco scandal that, more than likely, there was a period of a few years in which Shane probably used steroids, possibly due to his losses at welterweight at the hands of Vernon Forrest- though when he began doping is unclear.

So, you have a very beloved athlete at the top of his game that willingly uses steroids- and in a sport where the physical implications of this cheating can, hypothetically, cause the death of your opponent. That's hard to excuse; especially when he continued to lie about taking steroids well towards his BALCO subpoena caused his forced testimony under oath.

How do we know it was only for one fight? It doesn't affect my opinion of Shane much...still an ATG. It does tarnish his legacy somewat tho...
