To be fair Chagaev didn't 'fail' the medical. The medics just insisted Valuev get immunised, and didn't hear back from him; it was Valuev (or at least King and his camp.. I don't think the big guy gets much of a say) who ducked out of the fight in the hope of keeping the undisputed belt without actually having to fight for it.
