I usually use a C clamp to compress the piston. My brakes are two piston calipers so I use the old brake pad to compress both at the same time with the C clamp. If you try to compress one at a time, the other piston comes out as the one you are compressing goes in.

If you have an Audi, the first step to removing the brake pads is to remove the engine. Actually, you have to remove the engine to fill the blinker fluid too.

            Wrong!

You leave the worn brake pads in - cut a hole on the floorpan so when you want to slow down, you stick you feet on the road gradually to get the car to slow down and stop effectively, ******!

If I lived near you, I would show you how to do it. It's really quite easy but it's nice to have someone show you before you tackle the job on your own.
