More from Rafael: HBO will not televise Klitchsko-Chagaev, wants July 11 and Haye

SportsNation Dan Rafael: (1:33 PM ET ) Ross Greenburg from HBO has informed me that if indeed Klitschko elects to face Chagaev on June 20, HBO will pass. The network is only interested in doing the Haye fight on the rescheduled date of July 11.

    _____

Kudos, HBO. What was the source of that erroneous report that said HBO wouldn't do July 11?

Looks like Haye is the major attraction here.

      Unlucky Wlad fans.

What bitches. The network that aired Dawson vs Tarver II and Klitschko vs Rahman won't air this? A unification (sort of) in front of 60,000 people. I hope the fight happens and ESPN picks it up like they did for Vitali vs Gomez.

Good news. No one wants to see two dudes, with one they know nothing of, who almost dies every other day from some sickness, fighting. Especially when the alternative is waiting for a bit and having a much more meaningful fight take place.

Dan Rafael has been known to be wrong occationally; I'd wait for something official from HBO before jumping on this story...

Ever heard of learning from your mistakes? Clearly that is what HBO is doing here.

Also, they only aired Dawson-Tarver II because Dawson HAD to do that fight and HBO made him commit to (at least) a two-fight deal...which means we get Dawson-Johnson II as a result. At the end of the day, it was a good thing that they televised the boring rematch.
