I think boxing has to accept some portion of blame. Look, when coin is short the TV companies HAVE TO cut back their content. It's simple business law and all sports - from football to darts - are fully aware of the rules.
When the marketplace becomes increasingly competitive a sport must become increasingly INNOVATIVE. Tweak the rules. Market the fighters. Hype bouts to the stars. Make boxing more INTERESTING.
There are countless examples of perceived 'dying' sports which have reinvented themselves. Snooker did it in the eighties. Darts has been in boom times for a number of years.
Things like Prizefighter are a good start. It's something beyond the norm. We need more 'out of the box' thinking.
