"David has had a backache for two to three weeks. It hadn't stopped him training but he was just complaining about it sometimes.

"A couple of days ago the symptoms were more of a concern and he couldn't do certain sessions that were important, so we sent him off to have a scan and it showed a condition that needs some aggressive physiotherapy and then rest for about two weeks.

"He has had to have some strong painkillers and these have to take effect before the treatment begins.

"When we knew he wasn't going to fight, we told the Klitschko camp immediately. The consultant has told us that realistically there will be a three-week delay. David will be ready to step into the ring on July 11.

"I'm working on David getting back in the gym. David's message to the fans is that he is absolutely gutted and wants to give them what they want, which is a world heavyweight champion from England." [/INDENT]
Something doesn't sound right. If the condition was worsening two/three weeks prior to the cancellation, badly enough that it required painkillers, it sure sounds like more than something that one could recover from and resume preparations for a fight only 3 weeks from the original date? i.e. it looks more like a delay tactic. I'm not a sports physio-therapist but I'd be interested in learning more about the medical report on this condition.

Once again, Buncey lays the smack down on Haye Haters

I can recall 16 incidents where Vitali or Wladimir’s bodies have let them down in preparation for fights. Vitali, for instance, pulled out of SIX world title fights in a three-year period, before finally having to retire.

Why would Haye stalk Wlad for months pull out of the fight if he wasn't injured? Three weeks isn't that long to wait anyway, if Wlad uses this as an excuse not to fight him it's a real ***** move on his part.

I don't agree that it's a ***** move at all, although I hope the fight happens on July 11. For one thing, there is no guarantee that Haye will be ready on July 11th - what if his back doesn't heal in time? It's a big risk, and two postponements would be a lot worse than one. Then there's the problem of whether the German TV company RTL, and HBO, will be happy to go with the new date. RTL will be showing the German Grand Prix on that date, and Felix Sturm is defending his WBA middleweight title in Germany on a rival TV channel on the same day. HBO also already has a fight scheduled for July 11th. I wouldn't blame Wlad at all for sticking with the original date and fighting Chagaev, who is a very credible opponent, and who is fit - although I hope it does get postponed to July 11th.

Exactly these Klit fans dont have much sense, WHY would a guy who has been chasing the Klitschkos for a year now suddenly fake an injury to cancel the fight?? he even got the ****ing weak ***** Klitschko to

First he loses money and 2nd if Wlad the Chicken Klitschko does (as he looks like to) not fight Haye. It means Haye will probably have to wait 2 years to be a mandatory to a hw title for a shot.. he cant go back down to crusier cause he is to big and was killing himself pre weight gain..

So yeah smart one Klit fans Haye is ducking this fight he chased for year, so he can lose money and spend 2 years fighting his way up, god you are ****ing dumb...
