Something strange is happening with David Haye

There is something very strange happening in the Haye camp right now. It's been over 15 hours since Haye pulled out of the fight, but there is still no definitive announcement about the exact nature of the injury.

Haye himself is being kept in isolation for some reason. The media is not being allowed near him. This is very odd considering that Haye is usually very verbal.

Strangest of all, doctors and medical people are not making statements about Haye's status. The only announcements made so far have come from Haye's lawyer.

"We received an email this morning from Haye's attorney. He said Haye was injured but he didn't tell us the injury," Klitschko's manager Shelly Finkel said.

Did Haye have some kind of nervous breakdown?

This is incredibly strange. It's been about 15 hours since Haye's lawyer first made the announcement, and Haye has not made a public appearance.

That a lawyer would be the front man for an alleged injury -- an injury still undefined after 15 hours -- tells us something.

Perhaps Haye has suffered some kind of stress related collapse, and his handlers are keeping the media away until a suitable physical injury can be figured out. Don't be surprised to hear soon that Haye has suffered a back injury -- something like whiplash -- as that's an injury that doctors can't disprove.

I think the hayemaker is pulling a stunt and or trying to delay the fight to get more publicity because the big news in boxing now is cotto vs clottey.
It will take 2 or 3 days after the cotto vs clottey fight for people to start focusing on haye vs klitscko and 4 days aint enough.

Not a bad theory there by the thread starter. We'll just have to wait and see.

There definitely is something going on... As driven as he sounded in the past month or two, for him to back out without a peep is really suspect. Whatever though....

I only just got back on this site after a few days of it seemingly being inaccessible to me, only to find all this crap about Haye withdrawing. What a drag. I'll believe it when he officially says something, cause there's something a bit strange about all this.

              Publicity stunt, hopefully.

The theory presented here is that Haye perhaps had a stress related meltdown and is being kept away from the media, and little statements being made, because he's being kept hidden during this breakdown.

                An alternate theory:

I've read the Haye camp has confirmed he hurt his hand and that's the source of the injury that has caused him to postpone the fight. If David Haye was as intent to fight as his mouth made it seemed, its very possible the Klitschko camp responded back to he genuine injury, and basically said if he was backing out of their scheduled date Wladimir wasn't planning to wait.

Haye could have had a bit of a breakdown- that from his enormous letdown of the Klitschko camp not wanting to wait for him, possibly in part because of how he approached Klitschko in the media and such, and David Haye knowing the rug has been pulled out from under him.

If it's a real injury there's nothing he can do but let it heal, and if that real injury has cost him the fight, he's probably pretty devastated.

                There's an alternative.
