    same amount?

trainers get a percentage of their fighters purse.

how many fighters do you know of that can get paid $500k-1m a fight? let alone a fighter where the trainer's cut is that much.

ricky just wants a couple more fights before retiring. he needs to sell it to his fans. his fans right now are thinking he should retire. getting a new and heralded trainer might convice his fans to give it another last run.

freddie will be retiring at some stage due to Parkinsons, and Hatton pays better than most, especially if he gets a % of the purse.
Freddie also knows how to match his opponents well. I wouldnt rule it out.

It doesnt matter who trains him, you cant teach old dogs new tricks. Hes not that good of a fighter and no matter who he gets he is going to go back to his old ways.

Good........I like Amir but I would hate to see Warren picking up the pieces of Ricky's dwindling career for his own good.

Exactly. Seems like those rumors were right on...and makes you wonder about all the criticism Roach had for Hatton as an un-reprogrammable fighter during the buildup to the fight.

But, of course, this is clearly about $$$ and ego. He wants to one-up Floyd Sr. again, and of course the job pays well.

That's the thing. Roach said this himself over and over again regarding Floyd Sr.'s attempts to change Hatton.

Does this mean when Hatton loses his next big fight, Roach will just throw him under the bus and use this excuse?
