Chagaev, Universum Discuss Valuev Rematch Falling Apart

After the WBA heavyweight world championship was surprisingly called off over the weekend in Helsinki, WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev’s promoter Universum Box-Promotion held a press conference at the InterContinental Hotel in Hamburg. Universum chief Klaus-Peter Kohl, Chagaev, German Federation (BDB) President Bodo Eckmann, Dr. Michael Ehnert (Chagaev’s doctor) and Dr. Heiner Wedemeyer of the German Liver Foundation spoke to reporters.

Sauerland and Valuev wanted to win a world title without a fight, so they bitched out.

One in three people in the world have the Hep B antigen, once you recover it's not contagious. This includes boxers such as Henry Akinwande, who's fought many time since he had Hep B.

What a huge freakin (legal) mess the WBA has to sort out here! And you know something- they kind of deserve it, for the circus act that they've created...

WHen is this Valuev nightmare going to end?

I heard both Klitschko's were practically begging for a fight against him. I tell ya they would get a lot of respect if they were the ones to get rid of Valuev forever.

I would love to see either Klitschko knock him out, but Don King and Sauerland will never let such a fight happen.

This Valuev freak and Sauerland are absolutely PATHETIC!!! No one should ever watch one of his fights again. To think the WBA, which is the linkeage to all the greats, have stooped to this de****able level which once carried the great American icons makes me vomit. Valuev has lost to just about every American he has fought.
