BoxingScene.com has received word that former junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi is now willing to accept a fight with former lightweight king Juan Diaz. Malignaggi was scheduled to meet Mike Alvarado on the "Latin Fury 9" undercard on June 27. The fight fell through when Alvarado suffered an elbow injury during training camp. Malignaggi had waited for several months for the Alvarado fight to happen, and now his patience has run thin. He wants to take a fight before the end of the summer. [details]

that would be a great card i think Diaz would win this.

Paulie is a tough kid from BK if he gets this fight on this udercard it will be his second chance to really show what he is made on a huge playing field like that. The hatton judah fight doesnt really excite me. mathew Hatton is a club fighter at best and if Judah has trouble putting him away Judah better retire. Diaz vs Paulie should be a great fight. Diaz applies tons of pressure but unlike the Hitman he doesn't have tremendous power. Most of his vitories are due to the other guy qutting or the reff stopping it due to tons of punches and punishments. paulie aint no quitter and I can see this fight going to the full 12 and a close decision. These is a great match up..both guys don't have power..Malignaggi has a better chin..but Diaz throws in volume...would be great undercard..will definetly boost the ppv buys for the MAYWEATHER/MARQUEZ fight...i'm not a fan of both, but if Malinaggi/Diaz is in the undercard this would make the undercards which has been full of mismatches alot better...This one is a toss up, but i will give the edge to Diaz with UD if this fight happens...

Malignaggi should stick to being a magic man and do little tricks for tourists in the street and leave the boxing to the real fighters. That guy is a feather fisted joke. Juan Diaz would walk right through him. He was talking **** about Hatton being a holder, and he ended up holding while Hatton was handing him a beating. Learn to spit fire Malignaggi, you'll be more successful at that.

If Malinaggi's hand is in a condition where he can't throw it more than twice a round he will lose again. He's not good enough to beat quality fighters throwing a single hand.

You just contradicted yourself..how in the hell, can Paulie even win a close decision when you said it yourself that Diaz throws in volume...decisions are usually made by how much has landed..throwing in volume will definetly give you more pts from the judges rather than jab and move jab and move...Only way Paulie wins is by a knockout or all of a sudden he throws more in volume. don't see any of the two happening.
