Would Dawson have fought Cloud if......

Who is cloud can he fight? Could he beat Dawson? I don't think I've ever seen him fight! Has Cloud even fought on espn? I know I miss friday night fights sometimes but I'm normally watching it.

So in other words the first poster on here thinks that Dawson would've gave up his belt and not fought him if that was the only option at 175 other than giving Johnson the rematch he deserves?

If Glen was doin sumthin else, sure Chad woulda faced Cloud. But Glen was available and Chad is smart enuf to know his rep would go down the toilet if he ducked Glen.

I think there was more a chance of Dawson moving down to 168 than fighting Cloud, not to say Dawson is ducking Cloud, because he isn't, Cloud just isn't a big fight and he and his team have a contract with HBO, HBO weren't interested in the fight.

Good post. But of course one of the conditions of a Cloud-Dawson fight happening would be a TV network willing to pick the fight up. So I guess that could factor into the equation of Dawson's decision to hang on to or get rid of his belt if Glen Johnson had went in another direction.

He would of fought Cloud if Glen Johnson fought Tomasz Adamek and if Tarver never activated the rematch clause. The IBF would of enforced Dawson to fight Cloud anyway.
