    Two things that surprise(d) me

    1) Ive read numerous articles where Berto is still referred to as a WW "contender" despite the fact that he has a belt.

    2) Kermit Cintron coming in at 170. Dont know why but i found that shocking

1.) I'm glad those articles refer to him as a contender, because the true champion is Mosley, and the contenders for that number one contender spot are Cotto and Clottey.

I've stopped paying attention to belts now, whatever they are.

2.) Yeah that shocked me aswell, guy was fighting as a welterweight last year. 169, some jump.

Despite havin a belt, Berto ain't elite yet. He is above prospect status tho.

And I missed Cintron's weight too. But **** it, he boxed and moved the whole 12 rds, so he musta been in good shape.

yeah i agree with the mangler anyone who thinks he is in the top 3 deserves to be shot - imo SSM is first with cotto a close second, then clottey and then berto.

cintron is a big guy, he has a big frame, huge shoulders, lanky arms etc but damn 170!? maybe making WW was too much for him and hes better suited to 154

about berto, i totally agree that he is a prospect... btw slowing down the ww division with the wbc belt he isn't fighting elite boxers at all

KC coming at that weight is no surprise, imo he should have been fighting at 154 a long time ago, his problem is that his punching power seems to have stayed at ww, jmo

He looks better with the extra weight. When he was making welterweight you could see the complete outline of his bones through his back. I think he has a better chance at higher weights. With that said, anyone was even decent boxing ability will look very fast/adept against a fighter as slow as Alfredo Angulo.

169 really surprised me, it seemed to help him though.

I hardly even consider Berto a Champion. Look who he's fought in his title fights. The best fighter he fought a lot of people had him losing to.

Cintron just proving what we knew already. The 2006-07 crop of Welters were ****in huge. Most of them could fight and be successful at 154.
