Arum: "Mayweather Jr. Won't Get More Than Pacquiao"

Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, is taking a hard line with Floyd Mayweather Jr's mindset of receiving more money in a proposed fight with the Filipino star. Mayweather recently said that he would request at least a 60-40 monetary split for a fight with Pacquiao. [details]

This might end up 50-50 all the way.

They need to stop being greedy & difficult. This fight needs to happen. Why cant they just agree on a fair number?

        Sincerely,
Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins rematch.

That was never done before because trainers, bodyguards, etc... gets to be paid a fixed amount, and they can`t be affected if their boxer loses. The boxer won`t agree to singlehandedly absorb the financial loss either. You can just imagine the complications, specially if other contracts are concerned, which are usually fixed.

Im a Pac fan and a Mayweather hater and even I think Mayweather should get a 50/50 split, Arum is an idiot. I think Pac controls the money because he is the main attraction BUT Mayweather's undefeated status pulls in just as much attraction status and everyone knows it!

its all part of the job, Arum is doing what hes suppose to do. One promoter say 60-40 and the other says the same thing. ***** and complain then ***** some more and finally they either agree to 50-50 or 60-40 with a bigger slice of the ppv buys than usual to the 40.

Trust me this is happenining in Early next year. As long as Floyd beats Marquez and whoever he fights in December and if Pac beats his opponent in November

It is a business, but I'm pretty sure everyone is going to be pissed (including me!) if the fight doesn't happen because money. Let's be real this fight would have a lot of PPV buys.
