No, I think mentally for sure. If you can take a punch before or not, it shouldn't change it. But the aspect that it is in the back of your head that it can happen again is what makes fighters crack easier the next time around. It can be equivalent to common people things like, if you get in a car accident, it's in the back of your head that it can happen again, thus you might be more nervous to drive next time around. Not saying your gonna get into an accident again, but it's in your head. A fighter has more of a chance to get popped easier than a car accident happening again, so a fighter has more of a chance of it happening again.

so it has nothing to do with him physically being more likely of getting knocked out due to damage to the body from the shock of getting knocked out but more of him instead being so prudent that he is actually more open to punches?

i would'nt be suprised there is some damage done considering getting knockout out is like a blown fuse(it's your brain gettin smashed off your skull/your masseter gettin stretched to the point it bein like a plug being pulled out suddenly which in a system is known for ruining the quality and causin hardware problems)

        what's your take on it

yes, i did just compare machines to the human body
There's both mental and physical changes that take place, so it's going to be easier to get KO'd again with almost every fighter. I noticed you have an MMA gif in your sig so I'm assuming you know who Wanderlei Silva is. Look at him these days compared to him in PRIDE. His chin was a rock, then after Cro Cop he really went downhill in terms of how much abuse he could take.

sometimes it depends on how bad the KO was and the fighter mental ability

Look, it might have some physical damage as well, but what are you going to think about more after a KO? No fighter thinks he's chin is any more susceptible all a sudden because he got KOed before. It's all in the mind.

              depends on the fighter.

barrera was knocked out by juinor jones, and came back after it and did great beating hamed and erik.

joe louis was knocked out by schmelling, but came back to win the title and defend it for 11 years.

manny Pacquio was KO'd early in his carrer.

but i know what you mean,
it can take a toll on a fighter,
              roy jones, hatton, trinidad, ext.

I think if som1 believes they hav a very good chin n they KO'd...it would have a bigger effect...

Example on hatton it took alot out of him....where as som1 like khan i think wouldnt take it as bad at all

I think it does some mental damage that's largely un avoidable, though to what degree depending on the fighters character.

A way I see it is, when you go about what you do fine for years, grow confidence, you gradually become complacent and think your fine, un beatable. Then when you suddenly get KO'd it would really install some doubts. When throwing punches a year ago you'd go wild, later you'd be a little more reserved. Which can be good, only it also brings aprehension I think, your less instinctive.

It's like driving, most people go years fine so push it a bit. Then one knock and you see and behave about things totally differently, for better AND for worse.

i think its more devastating mentally than physically.......... but in a case like Pac-Hatton its about the same!
