Dan Raphael has 0 credibility as a boxing journalist.

I got on his After Dark chat on ESPN last night and he implied that a rematch between Cotto and Mosley is not an absolute necessity. He was giving everybody the impression that a fight with Pac between one of those guys would be better. Now I thought that ESPN's boxing section was a big advocate of the Ring Magazine Championship policy. But this statement by Dan has totally contradicted that.

Yeah, to me it's douchebags like him being part of the problem. If we could eliminate people with his attitude, we wouldn't be getting sham fights like Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya and Roy Jones vs. Joe Calzaghe. He's even acted like there's nothing wrong with a fight between Sergio Mora and Kelly Pavlik and Jermain Taylor and Cory Spinks.

Dan Raphael is MUCH more knowlegeable and more objective than the idiot writers at The Ring like Dettloff, Goldman, Raskin and Rosenthal.

And he's a lot better than TV commentators Teddy Atlas and Max Kellerman. I'd like to see Raphael replace Kellerman, that would be good for the sport of boxing.

it's his job to report on the fights, not necessarily to offer his opinion.

i disagree with that. teddy has some credibility in the world of boxing in that he was an amateur fighter, and professional trainer. and i've been watching boxing for a long time, and i still don't see what the problem is with kellerman. his comparisons to old fighters are a stretch sometimes, but i generally think he brings up valid points.

Out of the names you listed, only Raskin (who isn't as bad I thought) and Atlas are terrible. Fisher is terrible too, but you didn't list him.
