Better fighter overall: Mayorga or Gatti

I was just thinking about this, who has the better resume and accomplishments out of these two??

Mayorga does. Beating Vernon Forrest (twice) ****s on anything Gatti ever did.
I like Gatti and he is an entertaining fighter but the best thing he ever did was beat Ward and an old Jesse James Leija.

I think Gatti had better skills than Mayorga.

Mayorga in his prime would KTFO gatti at 147

overall id say mayorga is the better fighter - he has the better wins and even in some losses he would put up a good fight.

gatti does have the better skills and imo had more potential to do more with his career but he lost alot of his big fights.

agreed that gatti and mayorga at 147 would be a thriller, that mayorga would take it but mayorga is the bigger man as well.

Gatti was quite good at super featherweight, not great but good. He had solid wins over Tracy Harris Patterson, Gabriel Ruelas, Calvin Grove and Wilson Rodriguez. At his best he was rated above Genaro Hernandez and below Azumah Nelson.

Above 130 he struggled but managed wins over some decent fighters.

i'd say gatti. better skills for sure. both had heart. mayorga's resume is actually kind of astonishing considering he's about 10% skill and 90% heart.

                    Your sig made me laugh

Pacfans are desperate to big up Pac's wins, Whitaker vs Hatton would have been a severe mismatch
