  • Should Mayweather's Refusal To Accept a 50/50 Split With The Pacman Be Taken As...

Should Mayweather's refusal to accept a 50/50 money split with the Pacman be taken as greediness on his part or just using this as an excuse to keep the fight from becoming reality due to his fright in actually getting defeated.

Mayweather, a six-time former world champion from Grand Rapids, proclaimed loud and clear in a recent interview with FightHype.com that Pacquiao must take less than 50 percent of the purse split if their much-speculated matchup is ever going to happen.

"Pacquiao will never get 50/50. It'll be a cold day in hell before that happens," he said.

Of course, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, who calls Mayweather a "boring fighter," thinks differently.

"So now Floyd Mayweather says he wants 60 percent (to fight Pacquiao)," Arum said in the same Philstar.com article. "That's nonsense. Even 50 percent is nonsense. You can make a deal with Mayweather if Mayweather takes a much smaller percent."

Floyd seriously despises Pac...and in the biggest MONEY fight since Oscar vs. Floyd...I think Floyd would want the Lion share.

Itll end up being 52-48 Floyd.

It should be taken as an example of the negotiation **** that goes on before seemingly every big fight.

And what probably went on behind the scenes in many big fights in the past.

When has anyone in Pac team said they would take 50/50?? They have said 65-35 and 60-40. So dont just put this on Mayweather.

At the end of the day, it will come down to what Pac is willing to do... if Pac tells Arum he is willing to take less, then that is what will happen.

50-50 is a good deal IMO.

Surely you can say the same thing about Pac if he refuses to take a 50/50 cut. But Floyd will get 100% of the blame if the fight don't happen.

I think Floyd Mayweather is playing hard to get. The Pac Team won`t fall for that, Pacquiao will still earn decent money for Pac- Cotto/Mosley. PBF, on the other hand, won`t earn from a PBF-Berto, and he will definitely avoid Mosley.

In the end, PBF will be the loser, and his quest for money as the reason for his un-retirement would be an utter failure.

If he has to he will take 50-50

but no way is he taking a smaller slice. (and he doesn't deserve to either)
