Lennox Lewis took a belt out of the trash does that count as vacant?

Belts haven't meant anything in this sport for 20+ years. Just fight the very best and thats how you will be remembered.

Yeah i know. One of the worst duck jobs in boxing ever. I still want to know if it was a vacant belt. Nothing mas nothing less.

It wasn't "beat this guy for a vacant belt".

It was like Ken Norton in the late 70s. "So and so won't fight you, so here you go, enjoy the belt".

The WBC also did a similar thing for De La Hoya in 2000. His bout with Coley originally wasn't billed as a WBC title bout. Afterwards, they just awarded DLH the belt.
