I see all these articles of Floyd saying Htton was finished when he beat him in 07. But i know I've read an article here around the time of Hatton-Malignaggi that quoted floyd as saying hatton was a much better fighter with his father in his corner and may even beat him. I will give 10k to the poster that finds that source. Thank you.
Floyd Jr: "Hatton is a much better fighter than before with my father in his corner"

Yes I know he did...but I cant find the article in which he said it. I'm pretty certain he said a bunch of other things in that interview that contradicts what he is saying today.....including i believe predicting that Hatton would beat Pacquiao.Comment

I never heard him say that... but he isn't gonna say he is a worst fighter with his dad in his corner is he? Whether they get on or not he wont, he is just gonna praise his dad as a trainer. Let's be fair... anyway, I don't think Hatton was exactly the same fighter he was after the Mayweather loss but I still don't think it had much affect on him for the Pacquiao fight if any.
Roach said he wasn't the same as he used to be before the Mayweather loss too, as did Mayweather Sr. but I still don't think it played too much affect on his fight with Pacquiao, Pacquiao beat him fair and square.Comment

all you got to know is that floyd said hatton didn't follow floyd sr's gameplan.
logically you can infer that floyd is saying that if hatton did follower the gameplan, then the result would be different. which means pac would not have been KOed hatton in 2 and therefore out perform floyd.Comment

So what is it: He's a better fighter, or he is so bad that he even forgot to defend himself?
This is the thing: they always magically become **** after Manny beats them.
"Oscar was just a corpse, he couldn't defend himself, he couldn't even throw punches."
"Diaz was a bum, a walking punching bag."
"Hatton was always a glorified club fighter, he didn't even defend himself."
All these guys tried to defend themselves, all of them threw punches. Only problem is they stepped in to the ring with a much faster guy. Take a look at what Manny did in the Hatton and Oscar fights: while Oscar was defending himself, he smacked his guard down with the left hand and forced an opening for the right hand.
Against Hatton, the second knockdown came while Hatton was defending himself with his guard up. The knockdown punch was partially blocked.
I don't accept the argument that Hatton didn't defend himself. The guy tried his best but was much too slow for Manny. Oscar's main problem was he has no clue how to fight southpaw's.
That's how it is.

Wait a minute! He was right in saying Ricky is a better fighter under Floyd Sr, but then he went in there and forgot the absolute most basic thing -- defense?
