    Why didn't Valuev fight Brewster?

Why didn't Brewster or his opponent just step up and fight in the main event?

From what I've heard Brewster declined the offer to fight Valuev on a short notice. Meehan agreed but his promoter Don King had not yet arrived to Finland and thus the fight could not be made.

I heard that Brewster declined as he had only prepared for an 8 round fight.

Why would Valuev turn down a main event and title defense against Meehan? That's a fight he should win handily and the WBA would likely have let him have a voluntary defense after that since Meehan is ranked by them.

And why can't Don King negotiate by phone?
