    Was Margarito-Cotto the new Chavez-Taylor?

Every knows how great a fight Chavez-Taylor was. And after watching the Margarito-Cotto fight again, it resembles it so much.

Have we had any fights resembling Chavez-Taylor other than Margarito-Cotto?

    What you guys think?

if ur replying cotto is shot like taylor was after the fight not sure we'll see on June 13 and i'll be there live can't wait. But my opinion he isn't shot. I haven't seen the chavez taylor fight in a while but what i rerember was a basically a one sided beat down. In the cotto fight it was a fregin war that tony won did he cheat who knows. I"m a Huge cotto fan I still till this day say cotto lost let the chips fall as the may. Plus there was no controversy at the end like the taylor fight so eh who knows. But war Cotto June 13 cuse will be in the building

i should refrase my opinion on the chavez fight not a one sided beatdown but you though taylor was going to win and hold on i never felt that in the cotto fight around the 7 round i was drinking heavily and just amazed in maragritos chin. And knew it was a matter of time because no man can just keep doing what cotto was doing. Did he quit ahhhhhhhhhhhh no yeah no lol he just couldn't do it and said f it i'll live to fight another day. NOt ashamed at all of what cotto did that night. Both warriors put on a war and people on here should just take it as it was a welterweight classic.

Nah just how both fights played out. Cotto started off out boxing Margarito for like 6-7 rounds, the same way Taylor outboxed Chavez for 9 rounds. Then the tides turned on both fighters. Although both Cotto and Taylor were landing most punches, it was actually the punches of Margarito and Chavez that done the most damage.

And i ent saying Cotto is shot because of the fight. We'll see how he does against Clottey. I was just comparing both fights.

          And both fights got FOTY!

Cotto looked pretty soft against Jennings. Joshua Clottey is in no way, shape or form, close to Michael Jennings. Completely diff kettle of fish. 5 rounds, 5 ROUNDS to finish a D class fighter and you know Clottey has to be at least a B class fighter with A+ chin and A class Defense, his offense is a little off but he is 10 times tougher than Jennings and i'm positive about that.

That's not good logic, you can't just look at the number of rounds.

Jennings was....literally, running away from Cotto there was no way to finish him off sooner, you can't use that fight as a barometer for anything.
