its good espinoza mentioned richardson not ugly old floyd... bwahahahahahahahahaha!

espi is right, nacho should not take it against mares. nacho should have balls enough to accept that in business, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win.

floyd used to train mares, but he didnt like that style so he went with nacho.

mares should just try and talk to nacho and get him back to training him cuz he was good for him.

This is ridiculous. Somewhat immature move by Beristrain. Mares has been with him for a while now and its hard to fathom Nacho just severing ties like that. He should be happy for Mares as this is a huge door opening for him and would benefit Beristrain in the long run.

        Very dissapointed.

huge loss boxing wise for mares. Nacho beristain is probably the most technically gifted boxing teacher in the game. his vast knowledge of the sweet science is unrivaled even by the top trainers of today. the guy has worked with 5 or six HOF fighters.

but business wise its a great move. beristain is a pain in the ass when it comes to negotiating fights & purses.

I'm sure Richardson is a good choice for Mares... Don't get me wrong, he's a great trainer, I just don't think his style matches that of Mares.

Nacho IS the ideal trainer for Abner, though he has no reason to get butt-hurt.

If it were up to me, I'd go for Eduardo or Robert Garcia out of La Colonia. The work they've done with the likes of Fernando Vargas, Victor Ortiz, and Brandon Rios (among others) fits Mares perfectly.

There's also Freddie Roach, but that would really be a "low-blow" to Beristain.

i don't think thats a good enough reason, nacho might be a bad manager but he's not ******ed he just wanted the respect that he deserves, being informed doesn't seem so much to ask for,too bad for mares though

Dumb ass move for mares all he had to do was talk to nacho before this. Now he lost more then he gained by far like the other poster said

This is a very childish move by Nacho. Mares is a very serious prospect, he could do huge things in the next couple of years. The Marquez brothers are on their way out, both of them, Mares was Nacho's ticket to stay in the limelight.
