    Props To Evander Holyfield!

This is my goodbye thread to Holyfield. No matter how many more fights he competes in, I will NEVER watch him again. It's just too damn sad. Why these boxers cannot stop when they are ahead of the game I'll never know. And we're not just talking about a "few" fights after their prime..we're talking about 8 fights! BUT......Those who are saying he "sucks" and disrespecting him now really should back the **** off. Holy was an absolute WARRIOR and left his blood and sweat in many a ring. I have him on tape in so many fights and will say now that he is a top 5-7 heavyweight in the history of boxing and the greatest cruiserweight EVER. If I ever want to remember what a true Legend of the ring looks like, I will throw in Holy vs Bowe, Qawi, Dokes, Cooper, Moorer, and Tyson 1!!

I've always loved Holyfield because he went so far, straight up to the top, without half as much physical talent as many of his contemporaries. Bowe, Tyson, Lewis, all of them were more gifted than he was. The thing is, he deserved the decision on my scorecard in the second Lewis fight, and if he hadn't been suffering from Hepatitis A in the third Bowe fight probably would have won that by stoppage. The only loss on his record that really means a whole lot is the first Bowe fight. That's the reason he is, I think, the standard bearer for that era of heavyweights. He deserved better than what he got, and what he got was more than almost any other heavyweight in the sport.
