Right now, Pac has the respect of the majority of boxing fans. Floyd doesnt. Pac is seen as the more exciting fighter. Floyd isnt. Pac has actual fans that pay to see him fight. The majority of people who pay to see Floyd fight, do so to see him lose. Pac has never been accused of ducking any fighter out there. Sorry, can say the same for Floyd.
Right now, Floyd needs Pac more than Pac needs him. Fact!
Right now to a die hard boxing fan this would be arguable....
To the average people who know little of boxing (in the states), Mayweather runs the show. People know who Mayweather is, either through his mouth or talent people know.. Pac, not so much. Pac is a hell of a lot more famoue than he was a few years ago. But Mayweather is the REAL STAR people. At least in the States (for what its worth).
IMO both guys are "GREATS". But Pac is walking down the wrong raod with these "bigger" guys (Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, and Pwill). When its all done and said for. Mayweather will walk away beating yet another "SMALL" guy.....
What does that solve? And why is Pac so demanding with "cash money" all of a sudden? Isnt this what HOP, Jones and Mayweather get **** for?Last edited by WESS; 05-29-2009, 05:36 PM.Comment

He does need him IF he wants to make the most MONEY while fighting the smallest guy out there from his potential paydays. (Cotto, Mosley, Manny) It's common sense.Comment

I didn't read this whole thread and I'm sure someone must have suggested this before, but they should figure out a way to do a poll when people are buying tickets/PPVs.
They should ask each person: Who did you come to see? Fighter A, Fighter B, Both, or Neither (just came to watching boxing).
This way, all this debate on who is the bigger draw would hopefully stop.
Of course, this method would probably get corrupted fast. This is boxing, after all.Comment

Mayweather does have an inflated ego but it is true that his PPVs against Hatton and De La Hoya did more numbers than Pacquiao's fights with them. But Pacquiao is such a big draw at the gate that that should factor into the equation as well. The thing that caused Manny's numbers with Oscar to not measure up to standards is the fact that everyone thought Oscar was gonna kill him and they dismissed the match as a circus act. The thing that hurt the numbers with Ricky is that a lot of people including myself didn't view it as a competitive fight. He'd already been knocked stiff by Floyd and looked unimpressive in his come back fight with Juan Lazcano of where the ref had to tie Ricky's shoes after he had been hurt bad by a punch. Floyd has some cards to play here. But all of this isn't gonna matter because my boy Dinamita is gonna put an end to Mayweather's unbeaten record.Comment
