It's a good thing if they really scrapped it, ****** rule IMO, there's always a chance in boxing even in the amateurs.

Exactly, and the rule is pointless because if a fighter is really getting beaten up or outclassed the ref can wave it off at their own discretion, regardless of the score

I really don't like the point system in the amatuers. freaking ******. should go back to how Olympic boxing was back in the day...

nowadays an amatuer boxer can throw pitty patty punches and run around and win the medal lol

like the system roy jones got completely screwed under?

thats a ridiculous statement you cannot back up, a scoring punch needs to be clean and have weight behind it, pitty pat shots dont score, and winning a medal still take a ****load of skills and determination

i dont think its so much the system thats bad as much as its the judges, they are just too damn picky with what they score

at this stage ortiz is more gifted, amateure fights don't meen **** except how much you've learned in the short while a fighter has fought. imo khan started thinking he was the new prince. but hey you never know, after a fighter has lost his first fight they either get worse or learn and come back better fighters. i still say ortiz has the more talent.

Amateurs is totally different, and alot can change by then, until they lace them up and step in that ring we won't know. I am not saying Khan can beat Ortiz or vice versus but alot can change from amateurs to now and who knows what will happen. I just hope Khan never wins ****.

I know, Ortiz would probably knock Khan out now, my point was that the stoppages wasn't a clean one, it was just an accumulation of points.

If Khan does get past Kotelnik(sp), I think he'll fight Ortiz if he doesn't have a choice. I mean where else can he run to?

Anyways, he better beat that ****in Kawtlinek(sp) guy. I really wanna see Ortiz/Khan.
