Joe Louis had come out of retirement to fight Rocky Marciano, the man was 76 years old!

Louis really did not age well either. At the time of his death he looked closer to 80 than 60. Later in his career he didn't look a day younger than 45.

NO, he just didn't have the nutrition, medicines, and life-style of today's athletes.

People back then aged quicker because of the times. People can age quick as well in today's world as well depending where and how you grow up and how you lead your life. Also genetics will play a factor. Many advantages of today though...especial for the Rich athlete.

Vitali is past his prime and his body I've heard is battered a bit. To many injuries. I've heard Emanuel discuss the kickboxing wearing out Vitali as well. In a way, he is very lucky to be 6'7, 245 pounds (even though it can work against you) because he is bigger than most, if not everybody he is fighting.

                Everybody ages different.

Whatever the case is Joe Louis lost. People always try knock Marciano. But decades later he is still undefeated & mentioned with some of the greatest fighters. So he must have done something right.

I respect Rocky alot, we both share Italian blood. But that was no Joe Louis in the ring with him. As someone else said, everyone ages differently and Louis aged very badly.
