Khan-Kotelnik Winner Being Targeted By Dmitriy Salita

Undefeated junior welterweight Dmitriy Salita appears to be targeting the winner of the June 27 title bout between WBA champion Andreas Kotelnik and challenger Amir Khan. Salita, the number-one contender under the WBA, is planning to site ringside for the fight. He wants to face the winner within 120-days [after June 27]. Whether it's Khan or Kotelnik, the winner would be a big step up in class. [details]

I'd put money on, if Khan wins Salita would get the first shot at him. Warren would probably be able to negotiate a fight against Salita with the WBA before having to sacrifice him to Ortiz (Victor will beat Maidana btw, it won't be easy though).

If Kotelnik wins, I see him taking the bigger money option against Ortiz.

The Ortiz-Maidana winner doesn't really leap in front of Salita, they're fighting for the interim title that the WBA is so fond of handing out these days, the WBA hasn't really made their 'super' champions fight the interim guys so don't be surprised if Salita gets his shot, especially against Khan, it'd be a decent first defense of his title in England against a not too dangerous opponent.

If Khan wins, he will get a light hitter, Expect Khans career to take the mundine route.

There's no problem with that. Why would anybody want to match Khan with a big hitter? Khan should stay away from huge punchers.

Exactly, no way Warren lets Khan fight the winner of that having just won the belt. Plus the WBA is crazy nowadays.
