Insider Notebook: Vazquez Returns, Pacquiao Debate

By Robert Morales - BoxingScene.com has learned from undisclosed sources that Israel Vazquez will soon return to the ring and continue a career that has been on hold for 15 months because of three surgeries to repair a detached retina in his right eye.

Vazquez is expected to make that announcement Thursday during an international conference call.

Vazquez, 31, last fought March 1, 2008, against Rafael Marquez in Carson, Calif. It was their third fight in the span of a year and Vazquez's second victory in succession in what many have called the greatest trilogy in history.

Marquez won their first fight in March 2007 in Carson when Vazquez did not answer the bell for the eighth round because of severe cartilage damage in his nose. But Vazquez stopped Marquez in the sixth round in August 2007 in Hidalgo, Texas, before winning a split decision over Marquez in the third fight. [details]

Good for Vasquez, I hope he's good from his retina problem though. Seeing a fighter get hurt in the ring is a serious problem.

As for Roach stating Mayweather is the easiest...Dint he stated 3 weeks ago that Mayweather will be the hardest one and most difficult to knock down?

Well its good to hear Arum and Pavlik are on board !

Glad to hear the black issue is straighened out. Black Green blue white brown red yellow ,,,,,,we all have the same BLOOD !

Boxing is just a sport guys and we shouldn't make it life and death, just have fun with it, like I do with YALL WHEN:

Pac fights May ! By the By I was just looking at the replay of May vs Hat and my jaw dropped , before looking at that fight I watched Pac vs Hat and the reason my jaw dropped was the difference in the quickness and speed of Pac vs May. Flims don't lie !!!!!!!!! Pacs got em !!!

Pac will KO May , no doubt in me mind. May is gonna have a harder time with JMM than he thinks , Pac had a tough time with JMM. Ol JMM can deal with a speedy guy, If he were a few years younger it would help.

If I were you Mayweather lovers , I would start getting worried and pace the floor at night, YORE Man is in TROUBLE.

        Have fun hahahahah

Glad to have Izzy back. I hope he's got maybe 2 more tough fights in him before he has to go out.

The whole Pac fearin black fighters is just dumb. **** it.

Pavlik better face AA soon. I don't think he'll be hangon at 160 much longer.

Cotto damn well better be in top form and ready for war. All this talk about fightin lil Pac just don't seem right when Clottey's comin to take a piece.

Roach knows Mayweather is the hardest fighter in the sport to beat, its all trashtalk

And the news about Izzy is great, he's great to watch and the sport is better with him involved

Still we are hearing that ****** comment that John David Jackson did. Its just a cry baby tactic to get a big fight for his fighter. I do like Campbell alot but his two KO against Peden set him back alot. So he has to rebuild his career and fight to earn it as he has been doing, but all those weight problems are affecting him and going to another weight class with so many star are definetly gonna hurt his chances. Also how many oriental fighters has Nate fought?

                  Good read...

"Pacquiao is not fighting Clottey because he's affraid of black fighters" - Arum

                  **** was classic.

I have a feeling Mayweather vs Manny will happen this year, Arum has to be ****** not to make this fight. The PPV buys and gate will be record breaking, I think Freddie knows this and so does Arum but Bob likes to bull**** to not lose the upper hand.
