I have been thinking this since floyd came back that neither man would want to take a smaller cut so this would prevent us from seeing this fight. Now Floyd is saying there is no way in hell tht Pac could even get 50/50 which I think is the most fair, he says it will have to be 60/40 in floyds favor. Pac, Arum and Roach will all think that Manny should get 60/40 in his favor so I believe neither camps will come to money agreements and this fight will go out the window. Hopefully not though.

50/50 or floyd can retire. floyd is already talking about dropping mosley from his hitlist. since cotto is w/ arum, that means the only on left on the "hit list" is victor ****ing ortiz.

While I believe neither guy wants to take the smaller split of the purse, I also don't believe 50% of what's said in pre-fight buildup. Neither Mayweather or Pacquiao is going to step up and say, "Yeah, whatever. I'll take less money even though if I pretend I'm not more interested in this fight than anything else I can make several million more. Who needs three extra million? What's that going to do? Take care of my family for an extra 20 years if invested right? Screw that. Cut me a smaller check thank you."

Money is often an issue before hand and then worked out in negotiations. If the offer is clearly more than they'd make even with a major split in another fight, regardless of who is getting less, eventually someone will cave or somehow they'll throw some bonus or extra cash at one boxer to make him sign. It could happen.
